TRAIL RUNNING FOR EVERYONE
In partnership with FUGA MOUNTAIN CLUB

In 2026, for the second edition of the UTGC, the adventure expands even further! The organizing team is committed to welcoming and encouraging the participation of all athletes with disabilities across all race distances, from 10 to 120 km.

OUR COMMITMENTS

The UTGC is committed to providing meaningful recognition to para-trail runners, taking into account the diversity of disabilities. A disability does not define a person; it is part of their story and enriches the collective human experience.

We are implementing practical solutions to streamline registration, welcome participants, and provide support when needed, while ensuring a common, fair, and challenging racing environment for everyone.

Paratrail runners and able-bodied athletes compete side by side, adhering to the rules, time limits, and identical race conditions. At the UTGC, every participant counts and every effort matters.

Safety guides every decision we make. Every adjustment is carefully considered through open dialogue and with a sense of responsibility, so that as many people as possible can fully enjoy the UTGC experience.

GUIDELINES FOR HOSTING ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES

UTGC in partnership with FUGA Mountain Club!!!
To enable as many people as possible to enjoy the UTGC experience
50% discount on the registration fee for:
- the para-trail runner
- the athlete in a Joëlette
The UTGC will cover the registration fee for
the guide(s) and the six Joëlette guides.

1. Registration requirements and conditions:

● Standard registration procedure via the UTGC form (FFA license, PPS, and medical certificate)

● Required equipment as specified in the regulations for paratrail runners

● Identical time limits for all participants, as per the race rules

● Overall standings and categories according to UTGC regulations

● Personal accident insurance is recommended for people with disabilities just as it is for able-bodied individuals

2- Runner's Guide:

● Every runner who has provided proof of their disability will have the option, at no additional cost, to be accompanied along the entire course by a guide runner (unranked).

● The para-athlete is responsible for finding their guide runner and may have only one guide, who does not necessarily have to be of the same gender.

● The para-athlete must be able to propel themselves along the entire course within the boundaries of the official race barriers.

Visually impaired individuals are accompanied by their guide at all times, from start to finish.

● Guide runners must ensure they meet the performance standards required for the race format.

● The para-athlete and their guide must each carry their own mandatory equipment throughout the entire duration of the competition. The guide is only permitted to carry the equipment necessary to provide technical assistance to the athlete with a disability and to offer moral support. Any other form of assistance or external assistance is strictly prohibited.

● The guide runner must accompany the athlete with a disability for the entire race, from the starting line to the finish line, as well as at aid stations, and must inform the organizers if they decide to stop at the same time as the athlete with a disability.

● The guide does not qualify for the overall rankings under their own name; they will only appear as a partner of the disabled runner and will therefore not have a personal ranking for their UTMB/ITRA index.

3- Joëlette Race & Racing Wheelchair:

Wheelchair athletes are invited to participate in a dedicated NON-COMPETITIVEevent that follows the first part of the Gravel Run course. Helmets and gloves are required.

● Athletes using a Joëlette are welcome to participate in the 45km By Mac Sport, 30km Trail, 16km Gravel Run, and 10km Trail events, subject to prior approval of their plan, with a limit of six accompanying persons at any given time, who may take turns depending on the registered team.

● The Joëlette will play a central role in the event, either leading the race to provide a symbolic and meaningful start, or bringing up the rear of the pack to ensure safety and foster a spirit of solidarity.

● Athletes competing in a Joëlette will not be included in either the overall standings or the category-specific standings; however, their race times will be recorded and reported for informational purposes to verify the course completed and the time achieved.

All Joëlette assistants must register in the same way as able-bodied competitors.

● Athletes competing in a Joëlette must provide a medical certificate confirming their physical fitness to participate in the event, given its duration and weather conditions (PPS certificates are not accepted)
